SOMERSET ART WEEKS   13 - 28 September 2025

EXHIBITION

I try to exhibit every year with SAW. They alternate each year between Open Studios, where you open up your studio so that people can see the artist 'at work', and Festival Year, where you can collaborate with several other artists or organisations for a joint exhibition of works. These are great events with a beautifully printed guide - and, if you're lucky, you can usually snag a cup of tea and a biscuit on your visit!

This year I shall be exhibiting at Huntstile Farm in Goathurst near Bridgwater  TA5 2DQ alongside my very talented artist friends below

Debs Sparks AKA  The Thoughtful Potter

Harriet Popham  - talented lino printer

Rachel smith of iamrachel - maker of precious enamelled trinkets and jewellery

Christine Rowson - painter & printer of flowers and landscape

The Chandos Society has been running since 1961 and is based at Bridgwater Arts Centre, that being the very first Arts Centre in England.

We welcome artists at any stage of their career, whether student, amateur, emerging or professional.
We encourage members to take part in our exhibitions and on-line challenges and enrol in the workshops to help them progress on their artistic journey.
Preview evenings, visits and our Christmas get-together are a pleasant opportunity to socialise with fellow members.
To join today just click this link , fill in the Application, send your membership fee, it’s that simple!
We look forward to welcoming you to The Chandos Society of Artists, Somerset’s leading art society.

Somerset Art Galleries Trust logo in green and white

The Somerset Art Gallery Trust was set up so that Somerset may have a major public gallery. There is nothing like that currently.

We believe that art is for all ages and needs to be as accessible as possible. Our members are all art lovers, many are artists.

Our gallery is intended to have a fine permanent collection of good art with, where possible, a Somerset bias. We hope high quality touring exhibitions would be on show as well as works by current artists. We want also to provide a centre for talks, education and relaxed socializing.

We are always looking for good permanent collections.
