ABOUT LIZZIE
Lizzie studied Fine Art at Plymouth Univeristy and now works from her Somerset studio, surrounded by the shifting skies, bustling hedgerows and seasonal rhythms of rural Somerset, where she finds inspiration in the beauty of the everyday.
Her paintings are rooted in close observation — of people, objects and the natural world, and shaped by an emotional connection to memory, storytelling, and place.
Working primarily in oils Lizzie creates intimate still lifes and expressive portraits that celebrate the quiet poetry of domestic life.
She has exhibited with the Royal Society of British Painters.
Recently, Lizzie's practice has expanded to include vibrant mixed media and printmaking, allowing a more playful and spontaneous response to colour, texture, and form.
A passionate gardener and cook, Lizzie often draws from the things she grows, gathers or shares with others: a jug of wildflowers, a book left open in afternoon light. Little moments of the ordinary become, in her hands, quietly luminous.
When she’s not painting, Lizzie will often be found cooking for friends, writing or walking the Somerset lanes with a notebook in her pocket.
Whether through brushstrokes or words, she is always searching for a spark of connection—something that stirs memory, evokes joy, or invites the viewer to look a little longer.
Her hope is that her work brings warmth and colour into people’s lives, and reminds them of the beauty that surrounds us, even in the smallest things
